Molteni&C, founded in Giussano in the 1930s by Angelo Molteni, has become a name synonymous with Italian sophistication. By the late 1950s, Molteni had already earned a reputation for its commitment to innovation, sophisticated craftsmanship, and forward-thinking designs that were reshaping Italian interiors. This early embrace of industrial production and avant-garde aesthetics set Molteni&C on a trajectory that would establish it as a design powerhouse on the international stage.
Today, Molteni&C stands as the esteemed residential furniture arm of the Molteni Group, which also includes kitchen furnishings, architectural partitions, office solutions and custom fitout divisions. Their commitment to excellence extends beyond residential design, with its Contract Division undertaking high-profile projects for luxury brands such as Cartier and Balenciaga, and a global portfolio that includes bespoke store fitouts and large-scale commercial developments.
With collaborations alongside some of the world’s most renowned architecture firms, Molteni&C has delivered tailor-made solutions for hotels, restaurants, museums, theatres, and more. Offering everything from modular kitchen designs to complete, custom-made furniture, Molteni&C’s Contract Division brings the same level of refinement and functionality to public and private spaces. Dawson & Co supports these expansive ventures with a comprehensive turn-key package, ensuring seamless integration and exceptional outcomes.
Despite its evolution, Molteni&C has retained the spirit of its roots, remaining 100% owned by the Molteni family, maintaining a production chain that remains entirely within Italy—a rare hallmark of dedication to quality in the modern design world. This devotion to excellence is more evident than ever under the creative direction of Vincent Van Duysen, who, over the past six years, has imbued the brand with a fresh vision, solidifying Molteni&C as a benchmark of luxury Italian furniture.
Thanks to Dawson & Co, the allure of Molteni Group’s luxury pieces is now within reach for New Zealanders. Through this local partnership, interiors that epitomize Italian elegance— from modular sofas and statement chairs, to minimalist coffee tables and elegant mirrors, exceptional kitchens and wardrobes—are readily available to elevate contemporary interiors. Each represents an intersection of history, luxury, and function, embodying a timeless ethos that is as versatile as it is visually captivating.
