In February 2023, Simon James unveiled a stunning new showroom in the heart of Mt Eden, marking a significant evolution in the brand’s narrative. This expansive, light-filled space, once a humble mechanic’s workshop from the 1970s, has undergone a remarkable transformation.

The architects at Keshaw McArthur have created an inspiring fusion of contemporary design and industrial charm that perfectly showcases Simon James’s elegant aesthetic. The design philosophy in this reimagined space retains the essence of the original building while seamlessly adapting it for its new purpose.

Exposed metal beams and polished concrete floors serve as a nod to the structure’s industrial past, grounding the showroom in a sense of history. Soft fabrics drape from the walls and ceilings, introducing warmth and texture that soften the stark lines of the architecture.

A duality is at play between the interior and exterior, creating a cohesive environment that invites visitors to engage with the beauty of their surroundings while exploring the curated collection within.
